Joanne Dempsey is our Head Chef and brings over twenty years experience in the catering trade to the Tipsy Teapot. Her love for cooking started at a very young age when she would help her mother in the family kitchen on a Sunday making apple pie.
It was her cookery teacher Mrs White who finally inspired her into a catering career and when she left school she attended Weybridge Technical College in Surrey where she achieved her city in Guilds 706 parts one & two with distinction. Her first job was peeling potatoes in Langhams Bar and Grill in Hampton Court, owned by Peter Langham & Sir Michael Caine. From there she moved to London and worked in some of the capitals top hotels, clubs and restaurants including the Waldolf Hotel and the Greenhouse as Pastry Chef to Gary Rhodes to name but a few. It was whilst in London that she returned to college part time to gain her advanced pastry chef certificates. Her passion for food and love of cooking definitely comes from the heart and that is why her food has to be experienced. |
